Sizes vary depending if you want a slouchy or fitted hat, we gave you an idea of hat size by showing measurements in the pictures of hat we completed in the past.

I make custom hats just for you, I can change many things such as size, color, or pattern. Slouchy hats are made usually with worsted weight yarn and larger knitting needles. The fitted hats are made with DK weight yarn, which is a lighter weight yarn, and smaller needles. Just message me your color choice for primary yarn and pattern in comments. I will message you yarn color choices for you to choose from my current inventory. If you wish for colors I do not have on hand I will go to my local yarn shops and find a closer match to your request. Allow your imagination to be free!

The orca, shark, octopus, turtle and seahorse hats are special designed hats by my sister Mara:) I have been able to recreate these special hats, keeping with her high standards of knitting. I have many colors of yarns on hand both in wool and acrylic. The wools I use are soft merino or baby alpaca that feel extremely soft when wearing items made from them. The acrylics I use are also extremely soft. I special order pompom that are made of faux fur that snap on so that you can easily wash your hat without ruining your pompom. If you choose this option, I will also message you pictures of pompom color choices. Since I am making this especially for you, I will not start knitting on your hat until I have all the information verified by you. Once I start knitting a hat, it typically takes me about 1 week to complete. I will message you a picture of your hat once completed and mail it off to you asap:)

Mara's design inspiration for these sea creature hats were her love of water. Mara has always had a fascination with sharks. She could tell you fun facts about these majestic creatures! When she found out that her niece Sabrina was on the Special Olympic Hasting Sharks team, she had to design a shark hat!! Mara went to Hawaii to run one of her many marathons. That is where she saw sea turtles and fell in love with them. When she returned from her trip, Mara created 2 sea turtle designs that she never knitted up. When I found her designs, i found the perfect yarn to try them out. So far I have only knitted the sea turtle family design she created. The other will be coming soon. The octopus design took Mara many attempts, but she finally figured out just the right design to put into yarn. Mara created the seahorse after watching them at the Minnesota Zoo. She said she could sit for hours just enjoying watching how they gracefully moved in the water. Each hat holds so many fun memories with Mara. Like all of our hand knit items, care is easy. Just hand wash without twisting and lay flat to dry :)
